Project details

Leading British designers from the worlds of architecture, design and fashion were given an open brief to customise a Vipp pedal bin to give this Danish design icon a new personality.   Designers involved in the project include: Solange Azagury-Partridge, Bill Amberg, Ron Arad, BarberOsgerby, Tara Bernerd, Black+Blum, Sam Buxton, Nigel Coates, Paul Cocksedge, Jasper Conran, Terence Conran, Elle Doran, James Dyson, Nicole Farhi, Orla Kiely, Sally Mackereth, Jane Packer and Karim Rashid.   All of the designers have risen to the challenge by putting their individual stamps on the bins to give them completely new identities.  From Bill Amberg’s luxurious red leather cover to Ron Arad’s witty crushed can and from Solange Azagury-Partridge’s mini bejewelled gem to BarberOsgerby’s eco-conscious recycling design there is something for everyone to fall in love with.   The designs will be on display at The Conran Shop from Thursday 20th April until Thursday 1st June and will be auctioned on 27th April. All profits will go to Oxfam to raise money for farmers in northern Ghana to establish organic mango plantations, which will benefit families for many years to come.
