We felt like Alice in Wonderland when we wandered into the beautiful courtyard of Somerset House for the opening party of the London Festival of Architecture, and found it full of giant furniture. Described as London’s Largest Living Room, the courtyard was full of outsize pieces, from sofas to standard lamps, designed by Studio Weave, with a pattern by Eley Kishimoto. Luckily the champagne and sausages that were served were normal size. Our new mayor Boris addressed the crowd with gusto with his trenchant views on London architecture. Don’t expect lots of towers.
