Thursday saw the return of the ever popular Covent Garden night market. An array of delicious treats from cupcakes to sushi greeted us as we walked from the office to the piazza. A range of top UK chefs, including the Hairy Bikers, will be cooking up a feast in the ‘Kitchen Theatres’ preparing dishes available at the market. You can catch the market on Thursday and Friday evenings throughout August.
Fresh from New York Glacéau Vitamin Water is popping up around London with some wonderfully wacky events with their emblazoned camper van in tow. We went to check out the ‘Ha ha ha Hydration!’ party where we were able to sample the various vitamin water flavours whilst taking part in a crazy laughter therapy session. We certainly came away laughing and re-hydrated! So if you’re dashing around central London and feel the need for a bit of a lift why not pop down to destination Glacéau on Little Portland Street.
The V&A is hosting an exhibition exploring the relationship between the two worlds of fashion and sport. There has been a huge increase in fashion designers collaborating with sportswear brands to create hybrids and sports personalities heading fashion campaigns. Due to sportswear becoming an integral part of the modern wardrobe items are more readily available. New technologies and materials are being developed and adapted for high-end fashion. The exhibition started on the 5th August and will continue onto 4th January 2009. Interesting and exciting designs, definitely worth a visit.

Viktor & Rolf’s exhibition at the Barbican is awe inspiring; the famous Dutch Duo have created an autobiographical timeline of their collections and exhibited them in such a way that is both startling and enchanting. From their earliest experimentations with art and material to their struggle to win round the fashion world, this exhibition reveals the visions and concepts driving their works up to their most recent catwalk shows. The centerpiece to the exhibition is a giant white doll house containing hand created porcelain dolls wearing intricately replicated couture.
