Posted by Neil Byrne 02 Jun Fifteen Cornwall

Sitting atop the cliffs overlooking the surfer haven of Watergate Bay, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall comes as a welcome respite after a day of cliff walking. Decorated in a ‘graffitied’ modern style the restaurant serves amazing Italian inspired food using locally sourced produce. Yet there is more to Fifteen than fantastic food. Like Jamie’s London restaurant, it provides local young people with the opportunity to develop careers in the restaurant industry. So you can eat, drink and enjoy the incredible views out to sea knowing that you are helping the local community. Pukka as Mr Oliver would say!

Posted by Neil Byrne 02 Jun The Eden Project

On a recent trip to Cornwall I went to see the Eden Project. This amazing futuristic piece of architecture, designed by Nicholas Grimshaw is breathtaking in its beauty. The two large biomes sit at the bottom of a former china clay pit like an alien city. A meandering path takes you down to the biomes past a series of beautifully planted landscapes including lush vegetable gardens. I had heard a lot of about the Eden project but nothing quite prepares you for the first sight of this amazing structure as you approach the side of the clay pit. A must see if you are ever in Cornwall.

If you are walking across Millennium Bridge this summer you will be met by the works of six street artists who are making the Tate Modern on London’s South Bank a bit more colorful and surprising. Artists from all over the worlds have been invited to display their work making this one of the first exhibitions of street art at a major British gallery. Yet another initiative which seems to put street art into the serious art category. The exhibition will run until 25th August.

Posted by Judy Dobias 23 May ‘God Bless Magnolia’

I was walking in the village in New York last week when the traffic stopped and a mini-parade of girls in pink satin dresses with a cupcake in each hand started singing ‘God Bless Magnolia’ to the theme of God bless America. They paused in front of The Magnolia Bakery and with all The Sex in the City frenzy building up created quite a sensation. The New York Times reported record advance sales of people going in ‘groups’ which made me laugh since the Camron ‘Sex in the City’ outing complete with Cosmopolitans takes place next month.

Posted by Amanda Kasper 20 May Nurai Launch starring Lionel Richie

Last week Neil and I hosted a press trip to the unveiling of Nurai, a spectacular private community of beach-front estates, water villas and a boutique hotel on a natural island off the coast of Abu Dhabi. To celebrate the launch Zaya, a dynamic new real estate company, put on an extraordinary event including entertainment by Lionel Richie and a spectacular fireworks display. Orchestrated by Tony Chambers during a particularly spirited performance of Dancing on the Ceiling, we pounced for this photo of a lifetime!
