LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL

Established in 2002, The London Design Festival has rapidly grown to become one of the key constituents of the UK’s festival season. In 2007 the London Design Festival built on its growing reputation with a comprehensive range of activities and events that placed design and creativity at the top of the UK’s agenda. London Design Festival will work with more partners than ever in 2008, the objective being to bring design into London’s heart and to create dialogue and excitement about the role of design in our society and everyday lives. More partners will host events in 2008 and particular focus will be given to retail partners. Other activities will include lecture programmes, educational initiatives, published research, exhibitions, screenings and awards.

RABIH HAGE

Rabih Hage is an interior design company specialising in contemporary design, furniture and art.  Founded seven years ago, the company’s unique style is a mix of art and design pieces chosen exclusively by architect and interior designer Rabih el Hage.  Designs by Rabih sit alongside work by internationally renowned designers such as Christophe Côme, Johnny Swing, Mark Harvey, Karen Ryan and Piet Hein Eek.  Rabih Hage also offers bespoke interior design and architectural services.

SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL PALACE

Since 2002, the Swarovski Crystal Palace collections have aimed to stretch the imagination, demonstrating that the notion of a traditional chandelier can be beautifully reinvented. Whether designers choose to marry cutting edge technology with contemporary lighting design or use nature as their main source of inspiration, the results have always thrilled and captivated, with each designer breathing new life into the traditional chandelier aesthetic.  Previous designers have included Ron Arad, Yves Behar, Paul Cocksedge, Vincent van Duysen and Karim Rashid.

VILLA MODA

Launched in Kuwait as an alternative luxury fashion retailer, taking the best elements of luxury retail in the West and adding a distinct, cosmopolitan ‘Gulf’ twist for its wealthy, well-travelled and fashion-savvy clientele. Offering some of the world’s most desirable brands in an exquisitely designed space, Villa Moda rapidly re-wrote the rules on world class luxury retail. Sheikh Majed Al-Sabah has since opened retail offerings in Dubai (2003), Qatar (2004), Damascus (2006) and a further two stores in Kuwait in (2007/2008). A retail space designed by Marcel Wanders will launch this November in Bahrain and a new store and gallery space is planned for Spring 2009 within the DIFC in Dubai.

WINKREATIVE

Winkreative was conceived in 1998 by Tyler Brûlé – founder of Wallpaper* magazine and is a strategy and intelligence-driven design agency comprising advertising, custom publishing, corporate identity, brand development and design solutions.

Brûlé is a also a columnist for the Financial Times and a regular contributor to The New York Times’s T magazine and Switzerland’s NZZ am Sonntag.

MARTIN BRUDNIZKI

Martin Brudnizki founded his design studio in 2000 after working with a number of renowned architects and interior designers including David Collins. Previous projects include Daphne’s restaurant in Barbados, the womenswear retailer Browns and Browns Bride and the redesign of Scott’s restaurant, London. Recently he has completed Jamie’s Italian in Oxford, St Pancras Grand, The Club at The Ivy and Brindisa Casa and Tierra Brindisa.

Future projects include London’s Corrigan’s and J Sheekey’s Oyster Bar, Dubai’s Rivington Grill, Cecconi’s West Hollywood and New York’s Le Caprice.

BISAZZA

Founded in 1956, Bisazza leads the world in creating the most innovative glass mosaic products. Over the years, the company has always pursued a dual objective: the preservation and rediscovery of the processes and techniques typifying the Venetian mosaic tradition, and constant technological renewal. They work with the worlds leading designers including Marcel Wanders and Patricia Urquiola and will be working with a new range of designers in 2008.

ROCKWELL GROUP

With a desire to create immersive environments, architect David Rockwell designs from the inside out, placing the user’s experience at the center of each project. His 220-person firm Rockwell Group and the Madrid based Rockwell Group Europe employs a cross-disciplinary approach to its diverse array of projects that range from hotels to hospitals, restaurants to airport terminals and Broadway set designs to consumer products. Past and present projects include the W New York and W Union Square, the global expansion of Nobu, the interior of the new JetBlue terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Maze (London), Belvedere Hotel Mykonos, as well as Broadway stage sets for Hairspray and Legally Blonde.

META

Camron has been hired to launch Meta a new company by esteemed antiques house, Mallett, at the Salone Del Mobile 2008. Meta is a unique series of collaborations between Tord Boontje, Barber Osgerby, Asymptote Matali Crasset and Wales & Wales and the best master-craftsmen from around the world, using unsurpassed materials. The result is a collection of objects and furniture of exemplary quality created from covetable, fine and frequently rare materials.

DESIGN MIAMI/

Design Miami/ is the most prominent and substantive forum for international design, representing a convergence of commerce and culture. Its annual shows in Basel, Switzerland (June) and Miami, USA (December) bring together the most influential designers, collectors, dealers, curators and critics from around the world. The third annual Design Miami/ Basel, sponsored by HSBC Private Bank and Audi, will take place in Basel, Switzerland and will be open to the public June 3-5, 2008. Talks by Leaders in the field of design and the announcement of the Designer of the Future will enhance offerings.

Camron have been taken on to oversee all European and Russian press for this prestigious event.

DACRA

Dacra is an innovative real estate company that uses architecture, art, design and cultural programming to build creative international destinations. Dacra president, Craig Robins has revitalized the Design District of Miami by introducing a unique blend of retailers and specialized venues from the world of art, design and fashion. The company is comprised of a variety of entities and brands that work together to contribute to the development of every element of a dynamic community. With international development projects in Russia, China and beyond, Dacra has redefined the parameters of real estate development. Camron handles the European and Russian publicity for Dacra.

KVADRAT

Kvadrat was established in Denmark in 1968 and now holds a leading position in the European market of design-textiles supplying renowned architects, designers and furniture manufacturers throughout the world for use in upholstery and curtains. Textiles help to create atmosphere by influencing perceptions of furniture and space. Upholstery is an integral part of the function and form of furniture and curtains can transform a room. Kvadrat pushes the aesthetic, technological and artistic boundaries of textiles, working with a roster of the world’s top designers, architects and artists. Kvadrat fabrics and textile products are available commercially and through the contract market through which they are specified extensively by top architects.

ISTANBUL DESIGN WEEK

The latest not-to-miss stop on the international design calendar is the Istanbul Design Week taking place from June 16 – 21, 2009. With an exhibitor list that reads like the Who’s Who of design, the 2008 Istanbul Design Week is sure to be one of the most vibrant design events of the year. For the first time, IDW will be organised by Design in Turkey, a joint venture between Dream Design Factory, the founders of the fair, and DesignPartners, the masterminds behind Zona Tortona Design in Milan. The re-designed and expanded IDW will offer exhibitions, workshops, conferences and events all over the extraordinary Golden Horn.

DAVID GILL GALLERIES

David Gill has worked with only the very best designers since he started producing limited edition pieces in 1989. Early on, he worked with Marc Newson (who designed a chair called David Gill), Jasper Morrison and Tom Dixon. He represented Grayson Perry before Anthony D’Offay and later, gave Jaime Hayon his first major London show.

His current stable of designers includes Zaha Hadid, Fredrikson Stallard, Mattia Bonetti, Nigel Coates and Barnaby Barford. While all have highly individual styles, and a strong personal language, what unites them is a stealthy kind of luxury in their designs.

AL-SABAH ART & DESIGN COLLECTION

Al-Sabah Art & Design Collection, a contemporary art and design gallery is scheduled to open its doors in Dubai in March 2009.

A key mission of the Al-Sabah Art & Design Collection, created by Villa Moda founder Sheikh Majed Al-Sabah, is to promote the craftsmanship of the Middle East to a wider audience. Al-Sabah Art & Design is also trying to encourage local governments to take more responsibility in preserving their cultural heritage.

Projects which will be unveiled at the gallery’s opening in 2009 include new work by Studio Job, Maarten Baas, Marcel Wanders and Jaime Hayon who are creating limited edition pieces in collaboration with local artisans.

SELLAR PROPERTY GROUP

Camron is now working with the Sellar Property Group on a range of developments most notably the Shard London Bridge. The Shard is one of the most enigmatic buildings to adorn the London skyline in recent years. The vision of its creator, the much lauded Italian architect Renzo Piano was for a vertical ‘City in the Sky’; and the Shard at London Bridge Quarter with its mix of offices residences, hotel, restaurants and viewing platforms will herald a new era in high rise development for London and will become emblematic when all eyes look towards the city in 2012.
